Mary is an intuitive abstract expressionist artist who works in a number of mediums including acrylics, oils and charcoal. Her work aims to capture and evoke emotion by exploring links between her past experiences and ways in which they interact with today’s modern world. She aims to create a strong visual statement in her work. Strong, bold colours and spontaneous gestural marks help create rich textural layers generating a unique, energetic and playful painting style.

This creative, energetic style is also translated through to her charcoal drawings. Mary’s other favourite medium, where she works mainly with nudes which portray a distinctive and expressive style. Beauty of light and shadow on the human form have been explored in many of her pieces.
